Dr. Vasudha Kemmanu, an alumnus of Mysore Medical College (MBBS) and Government Medical College, Aurangabad (MS Ophthalmology), further honed her skills with a Strabismus and Cataract fellowship at Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. Her journey continued with Strabismology Observerships in Amsterdam’s Academic Medical Centre and University Hospital, Essen, Germany in 2003. Driven by a passion for public health, she recently pursued a Master’s in Public Health for Eye Care at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London in 2022-23, supported by the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship.

She was the principal investigator of the Pavagada Pediatric Eye disease study in which she screened 33,000 children with a grant received from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Her main areas of interest are pediatric community ophthalmology, public health in eye care, treatment of refractive errors and prevention of progression of myopia in children, management of amblyopia, strabismus and other pediatric eye diseases including surgical management of pediatric cataracts and simple and complicated strabismus.

She has 30 peer reviewed publications in national and international journals and has presented in several national and international conferences.
