About
Dr. Prithvi Naveen is a dedicated vitreoretina surgeon and committed researcher with a special focus on Inherited retinal dystrophies (IRD), gene specific therapy, gene agnostic therapy, and advanced retinal surgical techniques. She has actively contributed to the field through research focusing on phenotypic–genotypic correlations, electrophysiological assessment, and multimodal imaging in IRD. Her work has been presented at several national and international conferences and published in peer reviewed journals, reflecting her commitment to advancing scientific understanding in retinal diseases.
She accomplished her M.B.B.S from esteemed Mysore Medical college and Research institute where she was awarded multiple research grants including ICMR. She pursued her MD from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) followed by a three years fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery, Uvea and ROP at the prestigious L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI).
This advanced training equipped her with expertise in managing complex retinal disorders and performing intricate surgical procedures. Beyond her academic and clinical accomplishments, Dr. Naveen has contributed to global health initiatives. She worked in Liberia, delivering ophthalmic care in resource limited settings, an experience that strengthened her dedication to equitable eye care and broadened her perspective on healthcare delivery across diverse populations.
